Leila Silva, born Inezilda Nonato da Silva in 1935 in Manaus, was a famous Amazonian singer and muse of MPB during the last "golden years" of radio. She was celebrated as a romantic singer with "Perdão Para Dois," but also distinguished herself as a notable interpreter of samba-canção and samba. She was named the "Queen of Samba" by Revista do Rádio magazine, and the sambas "Juca do Brás," "Não Sabemos," and "Não Diga a Ninguém" became her signature tunes.
