Groovebox Story, synthpop band from Jakarta combines vintage synth sounds with modern production in the vein of Fariz RM played in the style of The Weeknd or Porter Robinson. “Growing up in the 80’s, synthpop and electronic music were some of the many references I had. They took me to the level where I am now” says Iman Hudaya who is popularly known as Aroel (synths) and the founding father of the band. Aroel who professionally writes music scores and jingles, was also a member of a local band PlanetBumi and Stereomantic.
